Hi, I'm new here. I linked in to this site from Screamscape. My family and I are roller coaster freaks. All of our vacations revolve around amusement parks. My husband and I actually went to Disneyworld on our honeymoon many, many years ago and our first trip together ever was to Busch Gardens in Virginia. As a matter of fact, my son wants to design roller coasters when he grows up (he's almost 11 now).

Welcome coaster Dave and cookiemom! Cookiemom, sounds like you have a really cool family! I'm really the only person who likes roller coasters a lot. That's great to hear thoguh, that your son wants to be a roller coaster designer...maybe one day I'll ride one of his creations! I once wanted to be a roller coaster designer a few years ago, also.

Welcome cookiemom! I wish my family was like yours! Me, my dad, and my brother are the only ones who like coasters. My mom hates them. I also would like to be a roller coaster designer one day!

Thanks for all of the welcomes, guys! We're going to Dollywood the first week of April because that's when my kids and I have Spring break. Unfortunately, Mystery Mine won't be open then! In July we're going to Cedar Point for a week and taking a side trip to Geauga Lake (and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame). We'll be at Dorney Park twice - over Memorial Day weekend and then a weekend in August with my son's Cub Scout pack. As I said, we're coaster freaks!

^ There's a chance the ride may be testing, I'd ask a person at the front gate, they might be able to "get you in".

Unfortunately, Mystery Mine won't be open then! Actually starting March 31st. Mystery Mine will be in technical testing. This means the rides "special effects" will not be running 100% to keep it a surprise for the 13th but it will be open. As of right now though it is supposed to be open to public for testing of how they like it and such, there is supposed to be a sign at the front if stating if it is not operating though, because it will be in a off and on operation state if they find things they need to tweak.

I really hope that Mystery Mine is testing when we're there in about 10 days, I love DW. We live way too far from there to make it back to Dollywood again this year.
