Actually go to Cedar Point, then you can cry.

^Thank you. Zack, you've never even been there. You can't judge a place based on other people's reviews. I, for one, really enjoyed Cedar Point. There was theming, unlike a decent amount of Six Flags acreage. Not every single patch of any park can be seen in a PTR - especially since they're mostly focusing on the coasters.
Judging by pictures of Kennywood, I wouldn't think that the place is too great. But I've never been there, so I'm reserving judgement until (hopefully) this summer. Just because other people say CP isn't great doesn't mean you've got the right to cry over it winning - you wouldn't know.

Not only that, but because his standards for Cedar Point are set so low, he'd probably enjoy it...a lot.

Exactly. Hell, my standards were high and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I must've been there on a good day or something...either way, don't sit there and go against something because of what you've heard. If the whole world worked like that, I'm not sure that people would love me like they do .

I dislike Cedar Point because it's owned by Cedar Fair and I feel like it's the "perfect child" of the family. I'm heavily against favoritism, and it seems that at times CF tends to "favor" Cedar Point more than the other parks. Yeah, it's the money maker, but that's no exuse to forget parks like Michigan Adventure and Worlds of Fun.
Just my opinion.

And Six Flags doesn't favor parks like Great Adventure, Magic Mountain, and Over Georgia? GAdv's gotten Kingda Ka, El Toro with new section, and a children's section in the past three years. Magic Mountain is in the process of a complete rehaul, and before that it had sixteen coasters. Over Georgia is one of the chain's first parks, and continuously receives world class rides, i.e. Goliath, Mind Bender, Georgia Scorcher.
Now let's look at the cloned parks. America: eight coasters, only one isn't a clone (and it's used), no improvement efforts have been made, and the last new (clone) coaster was shoved in the back corner of the park in 2001. Astroworld: didn't even try. Kentucky Kingdom: the totally ignored park of the chain, haven't heard of any improvement efforts, nothing new's been added for a while.
Let's look at Cedar Fair for comparison:
Cedar Point: the little brother who steals the attention from the sibling. MaxAir in 2006, SkyHawk in 2007, Maverick in 2008. World of Fun: just got a new coaster in 2007. Knott's: Sierra Sidewinder in 2007, Pony Express in 2008. Not bad for the middle child. Michigan Adventure: basically the Kentucky Kingdom of Cedar Fair. Got a used coaster for this year, but nothing much gets done there. Does have eight coasters, six of which are clones (if I remember correctly).
Read all of that, consider it, then come back with your response.

^ Also not to mention the fact that BOTH Kings Island AND Canada's Wonderland are getting/got HUGE additions to their coaster collection. It seems as if Cedar Fair is favoring other parks over Cedar Point right now, as Cedar Point only got a small family coaster and a children area upgrade, compared to these B&M monsters (assuming that's what Kings Island is getting), which is what Cedar Point could use, a new B&M. If they favored Cedar Point so much, you'd think one would be built there first.

I like Theme Parks not Thrill Parks, so yes I can judge CP even though I haven't been there. It looks like it was designed with RCT3 IMO.

I wouldn't call Kennywood a theme park, rather an amusement park. It has just as much theming as Cedar Point, which isn't much, in my opinion. You can't judge Cedar Point by looking at Photo Trip Reports, trust me. From someone who has been there over 15 times, and has been going there since he was an infant, looking at pictures of all the coasters only isn't even close to showing you what the park is like.
Cedar Point isn't all about thrills. Lately, in the rides department, they have been building more family-friendly rides and areas. They have a fairly big children's area by Gemini that has two children's roller coasters, plus an abundant amount of rides, and they also have completely re-built the children's area by Wicked Twister and Raptor, adding many new rides for children (relocated from Geauga Lake), as you probably know.
There is also Challenge Park and Soak City. Challenge Park has two awesome, 18 hole, miniature golf courses, two go-kart tracks (one for everyone 48 inches and taller, and one where you have to be at least 16 and be able to provide valid identification proving so), a RipCord, and new for 2008, Skyscraper. Soak City is very family friendly. While I believe that it does need updated with one of those funnels or something modern, there is still tons to do there, it is still a very fun waterpark, one in which you could spend an entire day at, and it still has all the basic necessities of a waterpark. A wavepool, lazy river, 4 different children's areas, splash zone, over 10 different slides, a zoom flume (slide with a raft that can hold the whole family), water sports (which include kayaking, jet skis, parasailing, etc.), and the beach.
Not to mention the traditional aspect of Cedar Point. Don't get me wrong, Kennywood is much more traditional than Cedar Point, but Cedar Point is traditional, nonetheless. It opened in 1870, 28 years earlier than Kennywood, and still has some remnants from then. The Breakers are over 100 years old and the Erie beach is a big tradition of Cedar Point. They have a carousel from 1912, Cedar Downs was brought to Cedar Point in 1967, but it was completely restored before then (showing they DO care about history and tradition), they have two car rides like Kennywood's Turnpike ride with cars that replicate cars from the 1910 era, only you press the gas yourself, plus another, muscle car ride, and the Sky Ride is a Cedar Point tradition since 1961. But you probably have no idea what half of these are because they are never featured in photo trip reports.
So as you can see, Cedar Point isn't all about thrills. I'd say only 5 of their 17 coasters are for thrill seekers, and 3 of their thrill rides are. They have a plethora of different things for people of all ages, which is why they are considered a resort as well.

Neither do I, personally, I think that Six Flags Magic Mountain should be best park. My point was that Cedar Point isn't even close to being as bad as you think it is.

^^^Awesome.
^^I don't get why the hell you think you can judge. I know damn well you didn't read everything he said, and I know damn well you're not planning on it.
(My super-long post about CF was directed towards John, by the way.)

I'm really not gonna read any of your posts on how I can say that when I haven't been there because I honestly don't give a damn if I was there or not. There were better looking parks up for nomination that should have won. Thats all I was trying to say.
