Wow!
The new family area seems like it is going to be a hit. 13 rides?
Does anybody think this sounds alot like County Fair added to Dollywood last year?
Discuss Here!

I know it's old but I can't help but to post.
Don't worry there are so many similarities between Dollywood and Silver Dollar City it's not even funny.

Agreed. Fire in the Hole / Blazing Fury Slidewinders The list goes on...
Alot of people think SDC is going to get a GCI, but I don't think so because of Ozark Wildcat nearby, but that's just my opinion.

^You have a good point there. But I think that Herschend and GCI could change it enough that it wouldn't matter. But if it's not going to be a GCI they will at least get another type of wooden coaster eventually.

An intamin plung-and-play like Balder would work great. (I think)

^Yeah.
You've rode both Thunderhead and Ozark Wildcat right?
If you have isn't there quite a bit of difference between them?
Because I have seen pictures of Ozark Wildcat and it doesn't look nearly as wild as Thunderhead does. But I don't know because I have never rode Ozark Wilcat (hopefully I will be able to next year though.)

^Ok then.
Well if anyone has been on both Thunderhead and Ozark Wildcat it there a big difference?
Is one more wild than the other?

I definitely think that SDC and Dollywood are similar in many ways. Though on the topic of a new GCI for SDC, and I know they arent always right, but screamscape has something to say about it:

Well I don't know how big of success Ozark Wildcat was but Dollywood's Thunderhead was very a big success (see below photo) and I think that Silver Dollar City will add something similar to it. I also think in the next decade or so Silver Dollar City is going to add something big like Mystery Mine (money wise.)

They even used Ozark Wildcat pictures to promote Thunderhead. (That's how similar they are)

Whoa, I was just looking at those 15 minutes ago...
I agree, except for the drop, they're similar.

Coasterdude5 you commented on them using Ozark's picture for Thunderhead. Your right they did. For another similarity look at this link: hfeimages.aristotle.net/SDC/sdc_gecomposite_md.jpgAll of the rides are Dollywood's pictures except the swinging ship. Also go to www.bransonsilverdollarcity.com and www.dollywood.com you will notice they both share a lot of pictures. On the Thunderhead Ozark Wildcat thing they are similar but Thunderhead has received a #1 golden ticket in 2005 and 2006. And the Ozark Wildcat has never gotten higher than the 30's I believe. Plus Thunderhead is the only one that has the fly-through station and I think Thunderhead's curves are banked more. Other than that basically the same.
