Hey peeps! This is the first of a 3 part TR of my recent Florida trip. And because I love you all so much, this is the first site I will post it on!!! YAY! So hyere goes:
Walking into SWO, you pass the small marina-type area. If you look at the titles of the small boats in the water, one is called Journey II, and one is called Altantis. You will see why this is so funny in a little bit. We got our picture taken with Shamu (a character, not the actual whale) and then walked back to JOURNEY TO ATLANTIS. See the funniness?
We hopped right on, paying no mind to the fact that NOONE else was in the station. We got into our 8 person boats and headed out. You go into this dark tunnel, then the end starts to light up, like stars. The stars continue to light up in front of you, in a line, so that they illuminate the path you are headed on. Some creepy mermaid rises (projector) and tell you to come closer. She keeps going on about how Atlantis was destroyed, and that we should turn back. We didn't of course All the sudden, as we passed the mermaid in the next room, she got really ticked and started screaming "NOW YOU'VE DONE IT!" All the sudden, her eyes got really green. We saw a whole lot of fog ahead of us, and above it was "the mermaid" with her lit up green eyes, We passed under the statue and started going up the hill. We came outside, towards the back of the palace, made a turn (on the turn, a whole lot of fog was rising from the water) and went up another hill. At the top of that hill we made a right hand turn and went down. Ninety feet down into some really cold water. WOOOOOH! You make a U-turn after the drop and go up like a 1 foot lift. Then you make this little steep dip, causing the front of the boat to dip UNDER THE WATER. As the boat pulled up, it dumped ALL of that water onto me and my 7 year old bro (we were in the front seat). We were TICKED! Anyways, we went back up into the palace. Cameron (my little bro) was freaking out, because the green-eyed weirdo lady scared him (she was creepy!). But all we did was go through the newly refurbished Atlantis. Then we made an eighty foot plunge to the right, and turned upwards to the left before hopping down into a pool of water behind the palace. As if we weren't wet enough!!! Then it took our picture when we were slowed down, capturing our freezing reactions for all eternity (man, that was deep). We went back into the station and willingly got off. A great ride, just a little to wet in the front in the morning!
JTA wasn't the best choice for the first ride of the day. My mother decided to go back to the hotel and get us changes of clothes while me, Cameron, and Will (step-dad) used the JTA water guns to drench riders ;D It was fun!
Once my mom got back, we changed, and my brother and Will (they are father and son BTW, so Cameron is my step-brother, but whatever!) headed to the Penguin Encounter while my mom and I went to Kraken.
Kraken is now my 3rd favorite coaster EVER. You get on, fun. Buckle in, more fun. Then the floor drops out from below you. SUPER FUN!!! You head out of the station, make that classic dip to the right, and pull up into the lift thingie. You head up 140 feet, make that classic B&M dip thingie, make a 45* left turn, then go down. Great airtime in the back!!! Up into the BIG loop, coming out it takes your picture. You head up into an awesome dive loop, this thing really serves as a turnaround! The following barrel roll is AMAZING! Sit in the back-left and you will literally come OUT OF YOUR SEAT, something that I have never experienced on a BR before! Afterwards you head into an extremely intense, very small cobra roll that whips you in and out FAST. You make a fun, high banked turn (at the bottom it is really BANKED!) into the MCBR. You barely get braked before you swoop down into the first "underground "crevice (the ground is dug out on the sides and there's some cement barlines across the top, providing great hand-choppers) which throws you into a GREAT vertical loop, like the Schwartzkopf loops that are VERY powerful. The exit of the loop is in one of those crevices too. THen you pop out, head upwards, then dive down into Kraken's lair. You pass 2 waterfalls (one can get the left side wet!) on your underground turn. Then you are TOSSED, and i mean TOSSED, into the final corkscrew. You know it is coming, but it still gets you! Then you turn up into the really smooth brakes. Now is the time to cry, cause it's over. But I got to ride it 5 times that day, but I was so sad to leave!!! Anyways KRAKEN ROCKS!
For the remainder of the day, we ate lunch, rode Kraken times 2-5, I took pics, and we saw a few shows. The 2nd best was the Pets Ahoy show, where a whole lot of animals come out and do a lot of funny tricks. There's a few voic-overs and alot of tricks. All of it is really funny, but I won't say anythjing more to spoil it!
The Shamu Show: Shamu's Adventure was cool. They brought out the 15,000 POUND SHAMU (the rest of the killer whales weighed about 7,000-8,000 POUNDS!) and he slashed around. I got two really good pis that show the big wave in the air about to come down on the people in the Splash Zone. You can even see them trying to run away LOL!!! It was cool!
The rest of the shows are all great, Wild Arctic is a great simulator (but my family didn't believe me that the walk though WASN'T the simulator, so I was TICKED!) even though I didn't get to ride it this trip. I have been on it before.
Clyde and Seamore take Pirate Island was HILARIOUS (best show there!)!!! They even have a mime walking around of front while everyone is finding their seats, and he micks everyone. He waved to this lady, and she just looked at him and strutted right past him, so he started walking behind her, mimicking her walk (swinging the hips and holding the right hand out). It was great! A few funny things were:
1) The guy stranded on the island with the pirates of the pirate ship reached into a hole to find the lost treaure map. And "he" was supposed to be reaching out of another hole. Well, someone else has to reach out of the other hole, because noones arm is that flexible. But when they reached out, they had their green sleeve still down. So the guy goes, "Uh, you forgot to roll your sleeve up!"
2) The guy finds the map in a hole, and says, "Uh, that wasn't supposed to go there!" Then he takes it and throws it into the cave. He runs out of the cave, says "TAKE TWO!" and reaches back into the hole. He doesn't find the map, but Seamore comes out of the cave with the "newly found" map LOL!
3) Last one The guy tries to get everyone to scream for which option they wanted to pick (I can't remember the options". There wasn't too much screaming. So he says, "Let's do a recount. I mean, hey, we're in Florida!" If you don't get that, Florida is the only Continental US state that is ALWAYS undecided in voting.
So, that sums up the day at SWO. I MIGHT add some pics later this weekend, but DO NOT hold me to it! Thanks for reading (if you are still doing so) and later tonite my BGT and WDW Magic Kingdom TRs will be up! Hope you have enjoyed this TR, and feel free to comment on this MESSAGE BOARD lol!!!
