At the very end of July, I went to Great Escape with my camp group. Great Escape is located in Lake George, New York. We had from 3:30 to 6:30 at the park, and the weather looked cloudy/stormy.
First, my group went over to the Steamin' Demon. This is a VERY compact Vekoma tri-looper with a loop, curve, double corkscrew, curve, and brake run. It wasn't that rough and was kind of fun.
5/10
Next, we waited in a fifteen-minute line for the Alpine Bobsled. Right as we got to the station, they shut the ride down due to rain. Hey, we don't want a car flying off the track, now, do we?
We decided to go to the water park since most of the rides were closed. After hitting all the slides and doing the lazy river twice, our group and a couple others managed to piss off the general public for the 234573209472310598274^232497th time this summer by going over to the bucket and chanting, "BU-CKET! BU-CKET! BU-CKET! BU-CKET!" for about fifteen minutes.
After drying off and seeing that it was still raining, we noticed that the Comet was running in this monsoon-like weather. "Hey," I said to our group. "Let's go over and ride the Comet! There's no line and the coaster will go extra-fast!" Everyone agreed with me and we went over.
The Comet is the best wooden coaster that I've been on. Everything about it is awesome. The airtime on the first drop is incredible and the air you get on the bunny hops is amazing. There are a few tight curves and rough spots, though. The Comet was so fun that we had to ride it twice.
9.7/10
We still had an hour left after those two rides so we were going to get dinner. Right as I paid and was waiting for my food, the group head comes and tells us that we have to leave right at that moment. They wasted that foot because the group head was an ass. But anyway, we went to a local mall called Aviation Mall, ate dinner there, and I showed everyone my 1337 DDR skills.
