A few notes before I begin. Number 1: This was my WORST trip to Cedar Point EVER! Number 2: I went with three friends. We'll call them B, P, and J. B will go on anything. P will go on anything except for Top Thrill Dragster. J will go on anything, including TTD, but he'd rather do something else.
We got to Cedar Point at about 10 AM. It was a bright and sunny day, no clouds anywhere. Once we got into the park, we went to check the line for Raptor, which was already long. So, we went back to Mantis and rode it. After Mantis, we checked the line for Millennium Force. It was also long. So, it's MAVERICK TIME! The line wasn't that long when we got in. It was already across the river and in the queue house. Once we got all the way through the line and on the stairs, Maverick was announced down for "mechanical reasons." We waited for about another hour, and it still wasn't up. We left the line.
We all decided to go on Mean Streak next. A good ride, minus the trims. From the station, we could see Maverick running empty trains. So, after Mean Streak, we were gonna go on Maverick next. Once we got off Mean Streak, Maverick had stopped running empty trains. They weren't letting anyone in line. We skipped it. We went over to Skyhawk. It was also broken down. So, we went on Gemini, where myself and B beat P and J. Next was Magnum, which is still going strong. (Note to all: This was at about 1 P.M. Magnum was our last ride of the day.) Once we got of Magnum, the sky was getting dark. And it POURED. It rained like I had never seen in my life. We all ran into the bathroom near Magnum with about a million other people. But, we wanted to do something. So we ran out, into the downpour, to go to the Main Arcade. If you want to know how bad the rain was, from right next to TTD, you couldn't see any of MF, you couldn't see TTD's tophat, and you could barely make out Corkscrew, Iron Dragon, and Mantis. My shirt, which started out as a light gray, was now black. After we were in the arcade for a few minutes, the rain died down. We went out to the Dragon's Inn for lunch. Still one of my favorite places to eat in the park. After lunch, we got up, and here comes another downpour. We sought refuge in MF's ORP booth. Once the rain let up a little, we ran to the Panda Express. Because we were shivering so much, we bought some of the Chinese. It felt good to get something warm in me. But I was still freezing. While we were in Panda Express, I talked to my dad on the phone. He suggested that I get a sweatshirt so I didn't catch pneumonia. (sp?)
So, after eating the Chinese, we went to the Maverick gift shop. I got a really nice and comfy Maverick sweatshirt, and P got a nice Cedar Point sweatshirt. J and B didn't get anything. Once we got out of the gift shop, we checked the line for Maverick. From the looks of it, Maverick was still broken down. So, we took a long walk all the way back to Wicked Twister. Of course, as soon as we got in line, it broke down. Although, it was kinda fun to watch the launch go about 5 feet. So, we got out of line and got in line for maXair. When we were about halfway through, some kid threw up. So, we left that too. We walked all the way back to Maverick.
When we got in line, the line was in the area before the small river and the house. We got in line at about 4. We had to be off the ride by 5:15. By the looks of it, we would be off the ride by no later than 4:45. Of course, in the same exact spot as before (on the stairs), it starts pouring again. This was at about 4:30. By 5:15, it was still pouring. So, unfortunately, we had to leave the line. Of course, as soon as we got out, it stopped. Stupid Ohio weather.
There are only two good things that came out of this trip. #1: I might get a new cell phone because mine is now practically ruined. #2: This is an excuse to try and go back this weekend.
Final Ride Count:
Mantis-1
Mean Streak-1
Gemini-1
Magnum-1
Not the best day.
