Hey everyone. So this year my family decided to not go to Disney, or Ocean City (MD), and we went to Myrtle Beach. Its a huge vacation town with loads to do. We stayed in North Myrtle Beach, less to do, but it was more upscale.
We arived on sunday and stayed at Barefoot Landing, Yacht and golf somethin... On wednesday the 25th(of june) we decided to go to Hard Rock Park (YESSSS). My mom and I were the only people who knew what it was in a group of about 12. We got there about 11, to some very polite and nice parking people. The parking lot was very well layed out.
So the entry plaza was pretty sweet. It would have been a cool picture if my cousin didnt get in the way of it.
They were flying a cool kite thing in the lagoon when we got there
We got our tickets about 40 each, except for a baby, a kid, and a senior. Normaly tickets are in the 50s but we had a family thing and it was pretty good.
We stayed in the All Access store for about an hour shopping when i yelled at everyone for taking forever.
My cousins rockin out.
My Nephew with a mohawk and a guitar. cutie
We finnaly got into the park. We took a right into Cool Country and got onto Muddin Racers cars thing (Picture coming soon i guess).
After the silly (but fun) kids rides we got onto Eagles Life in the fast lane (i like Midnight Rider better). There was no line, and we got right on. When your in the car (we sat in the very back) i threw my sunglasses on the floor off to the side and the attendent yelled at me saying you cant do that. Normal parks allow you to do that. BAD
So next we went on Slippery When Wet. I have never been on this type of ride so it seemed pretty cool. The line was not bad, but a good 10 min. wait. The seats are comfortable, but the cars were kinda morphed fiberglass. Its an awesome ride, and you get soaked in the front.
After Slippery when wet we went over to Led Zepplin cause we saw some rain coming. The queue was awesome and it used the space it had well. They had five pre-show rooms which showed some background on the band. It gets kind of boring but its a good way for the people to keep their mind off the wait. You get into the classic B&M seats and your on your rockin adventure.
The music starts BLASTING about the middle of the lift hill. Then you dive down the drop. The drop packed in some pretty intence forces. Heck, the whole ride packed in some awesome forces. It was just another awesome B&M
After Led Z. We went over to Nights in White Satin The trip. The facade of it was awesome, classic acid trip illusion stuff.
The queue was a long room painted a deep purple, with song lyrics painted on the wall. Some optical illusions were in the line for guests entertainment.
Naked Blue Lady(i think)
A giant statue guy, knight thing haha.
After your done with the line you go into a waiting room that looks like a poorly decorated teenagers room in the 60s. After being given your 3D glasses you go around a glow in the dark tunnles, which reminded me of a cheep boardwalk fun house.
Once you get into the cars your lap bars lower and you go very slowly into a room with "satin" moving on the walls and girls dancing behind them, onto more rooms with various optical illusions stuff, all to the awesome song by Moody Blues.
The whole ride seemed like it was poorly put together and rushed, but it was a good attempt. It is better than a Boardwalk ride, but not quite up to Busch Gardens standards.
Maximum RPM!.... Ufff. This was a good ride, but not one i would ride over and over again. The building was pretty cool. its themed to a "Manchester Moterworks" factory building. (There was a giant pig on the roof, can anyone explain that to me?)
The queue was good if you are an outgoing, or drunk person. The guy that has the mic was a queerish brit guy and he attacked poor people who DIDN`T want to sing. Its a cool idea but take it eazy, its kind of enbarassing to most people.
The cars were cool. They were like Backlot Coasters cars, but one more row. The single car makes it way out of the station into the circular lift. the audio switches through some stations and finds a good song while your going sideways to the top.
The ride packs a good punch but is WAYYYY to short.
Innovative, creative...Short, long line, embarrising
Random
More randomness (me in the front with the back shirt)
The awesome British Bulldog
Even my granny got into the hard rock spirit.
Bohemian Rhapsody was a pretty cool show. It has cool lazers (which i havnt seen in other parks) and the fireworks sync nicely with the song. Awesome show.
Led Z. was cool at night
So it is AWESOME for a brand new park. They still have some flaws to work out, like the food ordering system. But over the years it will get loads better. So a 4/5 from johnycanon8!!
bye HRP
