These are always cool to release from time to time, to give some "insight" or something like that on the site. So here it goes:
Coaster101...
...was originally intended to be a RCT fansite
...receives 150-500 "unique" hits a day
...originally had a "park tribute" section, that featured a park every week, the first being Opryland USA
...came close to closing to become Remember Libertyland in June of 2006 before deciding to create a separate site
...when Coaster101 does close down (hopefully no time soon) it will become a total Libertyland memorial site
...after days of operation, was notified of "leeching" photos from other sites
...was an accident, I came upon the host one day and went from there, I had been looking into starting the RCT site when I was in high-school
...received 44 hits in the first full day of operation
...main colors are now blue and orange, originally they were blue and lime green, some of the green stuff still lingers, especially in the gallery
...was originally only going to be a group of 50 correspondents, occasionally sending in photos, like a network (I trashed that goal after a few weeks)
...has tried twice at a photo contest, and failed
...has gone through three different forums
...covers and features only coasters in the U.S., we have not decided to crossover into other countries yet. (ever noticed how European countries announced coasters are not announced?)
...originally was going to be sister sites with www.thrill-source.com , a European site. Check out the site now!
...refuses to post stories on Amusement park accidents, we see it as: "If you're a true coaster enthusiast, why in the heck would you want to cover something that puts down your hobby?"
...also somewhat refuses to watermark our photos, excluding the wallpaper
So hows that for Coaster101 Random Facts Edition Uno!
