SDC and S&S have done it again folks, and this time its in the form of an S&S Screamin' Swing called "The Giant Swing". Looks like this one has a little something special aside from the theming, A LAUNCH! Check out the nice video and more at the ride's official site: HERE!

This is cool, I just hope it doesn't ruin the view (I doubt it will). I can't think of where it's going though... Of course, I've only been there once so I don't know my way around that well.

This thing looks SWEET! The Screamin' Swing at Dorney was awesome, and this is that plus theming! And can you say foot-chopper with that queue roof!?!
So, by launch, does it mean that you are automatically propelled to your maximum height, or what? Cause that'd be one heck of an initial take-off!

You can see the launch in the video near the end, it's just after the second POV and it indeed launches you straight to full speed!

Is that standard for all or is this a first?

^I believe this is a first. Most of the time (again I am not positive on this), they slowly go back and fourth gaining speed with each swing. Then, after a while, they are at full swing. I think this is why everyone "hates" them because by the time you reach full swing, you are pretty much done with the ride. As far as I can see, SDC's will be much better because every swing will be a full swing, thus youll get more airtime, and a better ride.

It does if the river/water in the lower left hand corner is their rapids ride, if not then I'm not sure.

^It says it's behind the Lost River...is that the rapids ride?
That looks cool, barnyards rock! I wonder if there'll be anamitronic animals...that'd be awesome!

I'm pretty sure it's there flooded mine ride, but I could be wrong. It's weird, that was the one area I didn't go to at the park so that's probably where it is.

In the quote it says the exact area where it is being built was previously undeveloped.
Personally, I cant wait to go to SDC! This seems like such a great addition.

The launch part looks like the best part. I would love that so much. I really want to go there next year.

I just watched the video again, and WOW! That launch will be amazing!
And I thought that the initial take-off on the normal Screamin' Swing @ Dorney was impressive!

I think screamin swings are the next carousel or train, almost every park has to have one.
