Well, how TTD waits with anticipation...I mean I'm not gonna lie, that would seriously scare the crap out of me when it launches (followed with ultra extreme-ness)...I pretty much think like the general public, I guess. lmao

^Yeah, I know, but Hypersonic probably feels more intense than the both of them. Shorter runway and it's what...90 or 91 I think.

Yes, Hypersonic is, no question, more intense than Top Thrill Dragster and Kingda Ka, but we're not talking about intensity. It's the element of overall speed and how long the launch track is that's simply amazing. While I've never been on Hypersonic, I've been on Xcelerator, which is very close to the intensity of Hypersonic, and I definitely prefer the overall top speed sensation of Top Thrill Dragster's launch than the brief, slightly more intense launch of Xcelerator. I understand that different people prefer different things, but that's my view and preference on it.

^^Try 82. Ka's launch sucks. Barely any forces. I'd have to try Dragster again, but I'm pretty sure it's close to Storm Runner, just WAY faster.
82 isn't that much. It's not even close to 120, 128, and now 138.

82 could feel a lot faster than the 120's because of the launch. I just wanna know if this new launch is gonna be long and gradual or short and intense.

I wonder what speed coaster builders will stop at..I mean, it has to stop SOMEWHERE, you can't have a roller coaster go 400mph, that could be deadly.

Why not? There are jets that go many times the speed of sound and humans come out fine after the flight. With advancing technology, we'll be able to go as fast as we want, safely.

^ But how could you prefer one over the other if you've never even been on a ride like Top Thrill Dragster or Kingda Ka, to compare them with rides like Storm Runner or Hypersonic XLC? I'm not trying to be rude or obnoxious or anything, so I'm sorry if it sounds like I am, but I just don't see how you can compare them like that, saying you prefer one over another when you've never experienced half of what you are comparing. That would be like someone saying that they preferred hamburgers over pizza, but they have never tasted pizza before. From someone who has been on a launcher with a layout (Mr. Freeze, Maverick) and a launcher that's just for speed (TTD) I can safely say that a launcher with a layout is WAY WAY WAY better than that launch-top hat-brakes crap TTD and KK try to pull off. Not only was TTD WAY too short, but the launch wasnt even that fun or forceful. The next thing you'll see is a drag racing coaster that is exactly the same as a drag race. Yea! They could make it launch to 150mph then slam into the brakes the second it reaches top speed! Then when you got to the other end there could be a station and a turn-table and it could go back the other way! Oh man, straight track, my favorite!

I've been on both as well, and I prefer that sensation of speed and adrenaline rush more than a good layout. The front seat of Maverick and Speed: The Ride are NOTHING compared to the front seat of TTD. It's such a rush, bigger than any I've felt on any other coaster I've been on. It's especially good when you know the right time of the year to go to CP or GADV so TTD and KK are walk-ons. I agree that they are very short, though and I would never wait more than 30 minutes for TTD, unless I had a first-time rider with me, but I never have that problem anyway as I know the right times to go to parks and the right times to avoid them. I wasn't questioning why he preferred the layout over the launch as much as I was questioning why he can even compare them, period, since he's never been on either TTD or KK.

Hahaha, jets aren't anywhere close. For one thing, most of the people who ride/operate those jets are highly trained, and they can withstand certain pressures. Also, lets not forget about the fact that coasters have no walls, or ceiling. What would happen if a bird hit someone at that speed?! What about the amount of room it would take up to reach that speed?? You can't make a tight corner, when a train is breaking the sound barrier...Theres no way a roller coaster is ever going to break 300mph...They will probably never even come close. I could go on for hours finding reasons NOT to make a coaster break the sound barrier...Way too dangerous in so many ways.

It's launching 0-134 in 2.5 seconds. And both Dragster and KK feel way faster than Hypersonic. Hypersonic has the sensation - TTD/KK have the speed. You can really feel it when you're going that fast (45 MPH faster than Hypersonic).

I think I put out the wrong message to everyone. I was just saying the coaster world makes a really big deal about speed now. And I was just implying that I prefer the quality layout over the intense launch/speed.

You don't know that it's not possible. You have no idea what technology will be like. If a bird hit someone on TTD or KK, they would be killed or have severe brain injuries, so that factor has already been ruled out.
