What is your all time favorite wooden coaster? Why?
For me, Thunderhead all the way. All the airtime, the twisted layout, the first drop. It almos speaks for itself.

For fans of the Zippin Pippin, the update on our group, Save Libertyland! is that the P-R campaign is in full swing, next comes a meeting with the mayor and a press conference. Any and all coaster enthusiasts and/or Libertyland alumni are invited. More details when available (dates and times being worked out now.)

Yes!!!!!
Thunderhead got #2 in Mitch's wood poll. I think it highly deserves it! Since it was three or four last year, two this year, maybe it will be #1 next year!
Definitely, it is the best in the country! (Since Balder is #1)

My favorite (or the 11 I have been on) is the Comet @ Hersheypark. It actualy comes in at #6, just outside of my Top 5 listing in the other thread It provides A LOT of airtime (especially in the back) and there is a whole dog leg portion that first time riders don't expect! So old, yet so awesome!!!

^Yeah, I think that's why so many people like the old woodens. That roughness just adds a nice authentic feel to it.

Especially with The Voyage opening up, HW is going to be a must visit this year.

Definitely, by the concept art, it looks like they're putting a nice amount of theming in, also.
