I haven't had my camera long enough to show you anything cool, but since this is the photography thread, I think Ill ask a question about photography.
I'm going to Cedar Point this Friday (90% sure), and I was wondering if the sport mode would be good to use when taking pictures of the rides. It supposedly uses a faster shutter speed to capture fast moving objects, but I don't want it to ruin half the pictures like landscape mode did. Would I be better off just using auto?

The sports mode makes your pics grainy because the ISO is so high. I would use if you have this the manual mode. Where you choose all your specs you want for the picture. Put the ISO on 80 or 100. That way you will have great vibrant color and the pictures will not blur, and still look GREAT!

^Nice pics John, the first one rocks!
^^WOOOO!!! GO ZACK!
^^^Yeah, Zack's right Justin. I would take a look at your first few pictures, and if you have a problem with motion blur, you could probably use the sports mode, but it's better to use your eye, and keep bumping the ISO up to get rid of the blur. However, if there are no clouds in the sky, I'm sure motion blur won't be a problem untill the sun starts going down.

^^THANK YOU JOHN!!!! ^Zack, I HATE WHEN PEOPLE THINK IT'S THE CAMERA!!! Anyone can take a picture with my camera, but it takes creativity and skill, to actually capture things the way you picture them in your mind...I'm not bragging, but you don't think cooks at resteraunts make good food bevause they have fancy pots and pans... do you?

^Agreed to an extent. Yes, it's the photographer that has to have the creativity of what to photograph and the knowledge of how to utilize the camera's features...but then not all cameras have those features, and there's cameras ranging from 3.0-12.0+ megapixels.
It's up to the photographer to get the better picture, yeah, but it's up to the camera at some point to get the better clarity.

^Yeah, I guess I will have to agree with you a little bit, but you would be amazed at how good of pictures you can still get with an ordinary point-and-shoot. I have a photography book here at my house, and most of the stuff in it, is about how to compose the picture, and how to use light to your advantage...I think only about 30% of it actually talks about how to use your camera's manuel controls. Also, megapixels really don't mean that much. By looking at an average forum sized picture, you wouldn't be able to tell a difference between a 4 megapixel picture, and an 8, unless they were cropped, or have had used a digital zoom on one. The public these days pays too much attention to megapixels, and not enough attention to whether they are buying a better camera...

I wasn't saying that it was your camera making the photos good. My point was that my camera could never do what yours does, because I'm sure yours has a lot more features and such. And I know you put the thought on how the photo will turn out. I'm just saying most of us don't have a camera as good as yours.

Fire burning near my house=Picture oppertunity! WOOOO There was so much smoke before I took this picture, that you could look at the sun and not have to turn away because of it's brightness... Like right here... It provided EXCELLENT lighting!!
