I got a tomtom one for christmas and am customizing it as I type this.
My questions are
Are GPSs worth it?
Garmin or TomTom?

GPSs look amazingly awesome to have, but I guess it would depend on what kind of person you are. I have amazing ways of getting myself lost in my own city, so I could totally use one...Seeing a map of where you are rocks!!

Like phazan said, it depends on the person. I don't need a GPS at all, but I am VERY good with directions and maps.
As far as the Garmin vs TomTom debate, I have no clue. I have only used a GPS that came with the car, and of course that is going to be good! God I miss that car, gosh darn my dad's insisting upon buying new cars every year!

I have never gotten a chance to use one but one of my family members have one and really enjoy it. I would like to have one for trips to places I don't know or to explore new places in a place I already know. For instance I can get you from my house to Nashville Tennessee which is four hours away no problem, but once in Nashville all I know is the interstates I don't know all the roads and such so for places like that I would really think they are nice. So I think they are worth it.
