The debate is ON! Is Mavvie a rocket or not? I vote no. Its kinda...... sorta.... half and half.

PS- This is NOT just random, me and Zack were talking about it on AIM.

Yes, why yes it is a rocket. It has the trains, the way it was set up (layout) is rockety. And its launched. Doesnt matter how it just is. Its an Extended Rocket. Thats my thoughts.

^The second half is a rocket IMO, the first half is just a normal coaster.

A small update is up on the Maverick Photo Gallery at Cedar Point's website. Progress is definitely slowing down.

I'm not sure that it's a rocket, and it's not a conventional chain-lift coaster either. It's technically an LSM-Launched coaster, I'm not sure what the proper name for that it. A rocket coaster uses hydraulics to launch - Maverick doesn't.
^I don't think it ever says that there is a single station, though it does state that it will use the old White Water Landing station. This doesn't necessarily mean that this too will use a single station like the flume did. It's also very unlikely that they would even consider one station with so many trains running on that track at once - could you imagine the stacking?
So, here's my thoughts overall: 1) Double loading station 2) Class of it's own (no hydraulics, no conventional chain lift)
I would think that Intamin would give their 95 degree coaster a type, this way if another park is looking into an Intamin that drops at that angle they could easily "order" one. I don't know, I thnk that would be a smart choice for Intamin to make. Plus, it would make the coasters easily distinguished in the coaster world, as well as allowing Cedar Point to have another one-of-a-kind coaster for a little while.

I've been thinking of that... I think it's a protoype, "Multi" coaster.

It'll use the WWL station as line space, not as an actual station.

maverick.cedarpoint.com/ride/stats/If you look under FUN FACTS, it says the "Queue line utilizes White Water Landing loading/unloading station". If you look under DESIGN and FEATURES, it says "Elevated single load/unload station".

I wouldn't really say Maverick is a rocket coaster. It is just so different from all the other rocket coasters. So I would vote no for Maverick being considered a rocket coaster.
