I may be mistaken, but I think I heard that B&M were quitting standups after Georgia Scorcher. Has anyone heard this?
If so, I guess standups will slowly be dimenishing.

No, I haven't heard of this, but I wouldn't blame them if they did. The standup coaster concept to me is something that someone thought of in a random state of ideas, there can't be a perfect way to secure someone for inversions and extreme forces while standing. That's why they thought of the floorless, which is B&M apologizing for the wrath they have inflicted in the coaster/amusement park industry.
Well, I made that last part up.
But the floorless feels like a standup, without that little car in the front. The name of it escapes me at the moment. I think it's an 0-car, but there was another name for it, I'm sure I saw it somewhere.

B&M has stated they stopped making stand up coasters because they were so hard to design. It is understandable because the trains would have to be designed with such a high center of gravity making it so that they couldn't use very fast transitions without roughness. They have also said that the WILL make them again if a park really desires on though.
Will we see another? We may, but just not many.

I think that they should either fit all stand-ups with floorless trains, or re-design the stand-up trains as I find them pretty painful and dont look forward to riding them anymore....if you understand what Im talking about by painful.....

^I always thought SfGam's Iron Wolf would be great with floorless trains, it's a fast, solid ride, and the floorless experience would add to it, IMO.

^Yea, I always thought that about Mantis, but they wont do that because there is Dominator just a short drive away.

They couldn't put floorless trains on them because the tracks were designed to be for stand-up trains with a high center of gravity. Also, If they redesigned the trains, how would they do it?

Also, If they redesigned the trains, how would they do it? I dont know, they just need a different restraint system that isnt so.... painful. The only thing I really think kills stand ups are the restraints.

I actually don't find the restraints painful. As long as you aren't hanging in the air, its fine. You can always just squat a little to make the seat go down a little and then stand up straight when it locks. Thats what I always do. The Georgia Scorcher isn't bumpy either, so I don't really have any problems with them.

Like I said earlier, it's hard to design a restraint system that will support you standing up for inversions and positive g-forces, because the area between your legs isn't supposed to have that kind of pressure on them, but at the same time, they can't allow you to be able to squat while the ride is in motion, and there have been too many complaints about it. I think B&Mis sorry that they even tried it, even though they made the best standups out there, I'd perfer a B&M standup over a togo or early Intamin standup any day.

If you stand like are supposed to, then there really isn't too much pain. That is, unless you come out of your seat and slam back into the restraint. I feel more pain in my legs from all the blood rushing there then I do in that certain place. What it is is just being more uncomftorable than in pain. I have to say that getting stuck on the lift on the Georgia Scorcher wasn't the greatest experience, but it would have given a GREAT picture.

^ Iron wolf is painful just due to it's age. I get a headache just from getting tossed around between the restraints.
